Percival is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) and having obtained approval to professionally practice with effect from 1 January 2015, Percival co-founded the Nyansa Audit partnership to provide audit, tax and advisory services to our clients.

 

Percival was until 31 December 2014, a Senior Audit Manager at KPMG Ghana having worked with the firm over the last 36 years. Percival brings to this firm extensive technical skills and competences including leadership in carrying out financial statements audits for subsidiaries of multinational companies that operate in the consumer markets, diversified industries, financial institutions and mining companies. He is also well versed in carrying out special audits related to agreed-upon procedures for governments and donor-funded entities; internal control audits; forensic and procurement audits.  He is familiar with the operations of a number of accounting software and hence computer auditing.

Countries of work experience include: Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger, Guinea, Mali, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Cameroon, and Benin. 

Whilst at KPMG some relevant experiences gained include:

  • Senior Manager responsible for limited review reporting to group external auditors and local statutory financial audit of Orsam Limited and Ower Ghana Limited from 2010 to 2013. These are subsidiaries of French companies that provide construction and electrical works for companies in Ghana;
  • Senior Manager responsible for financial audit of Guma Valley Water Company Limited, in Sierra Leone, which provides portable water for part of Freetown, Sierra Leone over a 2 year period.
  • Manager in charge of one of the audit teams that carried out audits of Dutch Government funded projects in Burkina Faso and Niger over a 10 year period between 1990 and 2000;

Percival will provide overall technical direction at the inception, planning, execution and completing stages of the audit. He will also be responsible for the overall quality of the audit process; ensure that audit documentation is in accordance with professional standards; and will ensure all communication to those charged with governance is adequate and appropriate.  He will be responsible for signing off on the audit report for the firm.
